Assalamualaikum Dear Parents and Students,
As Term 3 draws to a close, we are filled with immense pride and gratitude for the many successes and memorable moments that have enriched our school community this term. It has been a busy and fulfilling time, and we are thrilled to share some highlights with you.
Quran Night & Umrah Fundraiser Success
Our Quran Night was a resounding success! With over $50,000 raised, we are well on our way to funding our much-anticipated student Umrah Tour. The event began with a Community Sports Competition, where families and students engaged in friendly matches, followed by a variety of exciting stalls and activities for children.
A special highlight was the participation of our students, who ran stalls to assist in the fundraising efforts. They served BBQ burgers, sausage sizzles, drinks, ice cream, and the spectacular Chinos pizza, which were all a big hit with attendees. Student, staff and parent initiative and hard work contributed significantly to the evening’s success.
The night concluded with a spiritually uplifting recitation of the Quran by our esteemed guest, Qari Sh. Mohamed El Harbi, creating a memorable and heartwarming experience for everyone present. We are incredibly grateful to our parents, students, and community members for their generous contributions and support. This event was not just a fundraiser but a beautiful reminder of the strength of our community spirit and collective efforts.
Book Week Parade & Event
Our School Book Week Parade and Event was a vibrant celebration of literature and creativity. Students and staff alike donned costumes representing their favourite characters, bringing stories to life in a fun and imaginative way. It was heartening to see such enthusiasm for reading across all year levels, reminding us of the joy that books bring into our lives.
Science Week 2024
Science Week was another highlight of Term 3, with students diving into the wonders of science through hands-on experiments and presentations. This year's theme allowed students to explore and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, sparking their curiosity about the world around them.
A shout out to the Science department with Br Adams leading teachers and students to put together an amazing showcase of talent, science and art.
Volleyball Championship Success
Our senior students made us all proud by competing in the WA Volleyball Championships and bringing home gold and silver medals. Their dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship were on full display, and we congratulate them on their fantastic achievement!
Year 12 Cookout with Sh. Yahya
Our Year 12 students had a special treat with a Cookout hosted by Sh. Yahya, where they not only enjoyed delicious food but also engaged in meaningful conversations about life, faith, and the future. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to bond and reflect as they approach their final weeks of high school.
High School Girls Camp 2024
The High School Girls Camp was another great success this term. It was an opportunity for our young women to develop leadership skills, build friendships, and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities that challenged and empowered them. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to continuing such enriching programs.
Year 7 Sparks Mentorship Program
Our Year 7 Sparks Mentorship Program continues to flourish, providing valuable guidance and mentorship to our Year 6 students. The program helps foster confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging as they transition into high school.
Year 6 Transition Preparation
As we prepare our Year 6 students for their transition to high school, we are ensuring that they feel supported and ready for the next chapter in their educational journey. Through workshops, orientation days, and mentorship opportunities, we are confident that they will move forward with excitement and confidence.
Languages Week Presentation
Our Languages Week Presentation was a celebration of the rich linguistic diversity that enhances our college. From Arabic to Indonesian, our students showcased their language skills and the cultural insights that come with being part of a multilingual community. The value of these languages to our academic programs, particularly the study of ATAR Arabic and Indonesian ATAR, continues to enrich our students’ educational vast offering of courses.
Primary School Swimming Success
Our Primary School Swimming Program was another triumph this term. Students learned essential water safety and survival skills, which are invaluable in fostering confidence and competence in and around water.
It Takes a Spark STEM Conference 2024
We are proud of our high school students who participated in the It Takes A Spark STEM Conference in Perth. They were engaged in exciting workshops and presentations, collaborating with peers from other schools and developing innovative solutions to real-world problems. Their participation highlights our commitment to providing cutting-edge STEM education for our Al-Ameen students as part of their STEM co-curricular and elective classes.
A Special Message to Our Year 12 Students
As our Year 12 students prepare to sit their final Semester 2 exams, I want to take this moment to wish them the very best. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have brought you to this pivotal point in your academic journey, and we are confident that you will excel in these final assessments.
You have been the heartbeat of our school, bringing energy, passion, and joy to every corner of the campus. Your presence will be deeply missed by both your peers and teachers alike, but your legacy will continue to inspire the younger students.
May Allah (SWT) grant you clarity of mind, focus, and ease during your exams. May He reward your efforts with success in this world and the Hereafter, and guide you on a path of continued growth and fulfillment.

Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning
As Term 3 comes to a close, it is my pleasure to share with you once again some of the many highlights and events that have taken place over the last ten weeks at the College.
To support Year 12 ATAR students, after-school tutoring sessions were held during Weeks 9 and 10 providing extra help before exams. Mock exams have been conducted to help students sharpen their time management skills and reduce stress in preparation for the WACE exams. Semester Two exams will take place during the first week of the holidays and extend into Week 1 of Term 4, with students encouraged to use this time to thoroughly revise.
Online subject selections for Year 11 and 12 students for 2025 are now finalised. For Year 10 students who did not achieve a 50% average in core subjects, meetings with parents and course counsellors have been held to implement support plans aimed at reaching the 50% average by year-end. One-on-one course counselling in Week 3 guided Year 10 students in selecting subjects aligned with their future goals.
During Weeks 4 to 6, students took part in the ICAS competitions, demonstrating their talents across various subjects. In addition, our Year 7 and 8 students participated in the Premier's Spelling Bee, with 28 students qualifying for the state round. Al Ameen College presented for the third year at the Perth IT Takes a Spark STEM Conference, focusing on how drones support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This showcased our students' innovative thinking in STEM.
The Science Week Expo on August 20th was a resounding success, with students participated in projects and experiments. The highlight was a Science Show by our Head of Science, inspiring future scientists. Book Week, celebrated on August 28th, saw students and staff dressing up as beloved book characters in a fun celebration of reading and creativity. Our athletes excelled at the HBF tournaments in basketball, volleyball, and badminton, returning victorious in several events. Congratulations to all our athletes for their hard work!
The Year 7and 11 mentor session with Year 6 students took place as part of the Sparks High School Transition Program. This session helps our younger students feel more confident and prepared for the move to high school.
High school staff participated in a professional development session on High Impact Practices with AISWA, enhancing teaching strategies to improve student outcomes.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
As we reach the end of this term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of our students and the collective efforts of our dedicated staff and supportive parents. Alhamdulillah, this term has been filled with significant milestones that showcase the remarkable progress our students have made in their Islamic education.
First and foremost, I am immensely proud of the progress our students have shown in their Quranic studies. It is heartening to see the fruits of their hard work and dedication. Many of our students have memorized substantial portions of the Quran, and their recitation skills have improved tremendously. Their commitment to understanding and living by the words of Allah (SWT) is truly commendable. I would like to especially acknowledge the role of our Quran teachers, whose tireless efforts have been instrumental in guiding our students on this blessed journey.
In addition to their Quranic achievements, our students have also demonstrated exceptional adab and manners, both in and out of the classroom. The embodiment of Islamic values in their daily interactions is a testament to the strong moral and spiritual foundation they are building here at Al-Ameen College. Their behavior reflects the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and it fills my heart with pride to see them growing into compassionate, respectful, and mindful young Muslims.
This term, we also celebrated a beautiful and successful Quran Family Night, where parents, students, and staff came together in the spirit of unity and reflection. The evening was a reminder of the importance of maintaining a strong connection with the Quran as a family, and it provided an opportunity for us to bond and share in the blessings of this sacred book. The success of this event would not have been possible without the active participation and enthusiasm of our parents, for which we are deeply grateful.
Furthermore, I am thrilled to announce that, through our collective efforts, we have raised an incredible $50,000 for the upcoming student Umrah trip. This achievement is a clear reflection of the generosity and support of our entire school community. The Umrah trip will be a life-changing experience for our students, allowing them to deepen their faith and connection with the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. May Allah (SWT) reward everyone who contributed to this noble cause and make the journey a means of spiritual growth and lasting memories for our students.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our Islamic Studies staff for their unwavering commitment to the spiritual and academic growth of our students. Your dedication and passion for teaching have been instrumental in nurturing the minds and hearts of our students. I am truly blessed to work alongside such an incredible team.
Lastly, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parents. Your ongoing support, involvement, and encouragement are invaluable to us. Together, we are building a strong foundation for our children’s future, and I look forward to continuing this journey together.
May Allah (SWT) bless our students, staff, and families with continued success, good health, and strong iman. I wish you all a restful and blessed break, and I look forward to welcoming you back for another successful term, Insha’Allah.

Science - An Electrifying Race Day!
Science Department Initiative – An Electrifying Race Day!
With great excitement and the full support of Mr. Coleman, the Year 9 and 10 students of our Science Department embarked on a thrilling electric car race! Our team hit the ground running and was first place within the first five minutes, showcasing outstanding preparation and strategy.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen power issues, we briefly dropped to 10th place. However, with quick fixes and determination, our team fought back and climbed to 8th place despite being 50 laps behind. The challenge intensified as 8 other cars were eliminated throughout the race, a true testament to the difficulty and high stakes of the event.
Despite the setbacks, the drivers exhibited excellent skills on the track. A considerable portion of the race was spent in the pits for repairs and fine-tuning, but our team never gave up. Lap after lap, they consistently delivered impressive 12-14 second lap times in an effort to catch up. Unfortunately, the team faced another hurdle with battery energy running low towards the end.
In the end, the race was won by Emmanuel College, a well-coordinated team of 11. Nevertheless, our team’s perseverance, spirit, and passion were undeniable. It was a fantastic learning experience filled with excitement, collaboration, and lessons in both engineering and teamwork. We can’t wait for the next challenge!
