The Wellbeing Department has worked diligently throughout Term 4 to implement meaningful initiatives that promote personal growth, emotional wellbeing, and a strong sense of community among our students.

With the close of this year, we take pride in our students' achievements and our staff's tireless efforts to uphold the values of compassion, resilience, and academic excellence. As we look forward to the new year, we remain steadfast in our mission to empower our students to lead with integrity and become well-rounded individuals who will positively contribute to society, Insha Allah.

Assistant Principal -Religious Studies

As we successfully conclude the end of the 2024 academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on our shared journey at Al Ameen College. This year has been filled with growth, challenges, and countless achievements, all of which have contributed to our vibrant school community.

In the spirit of our Islamic values, we have worked together to foster an environment of compassion, respect, and excellence. Our students have not only excelled academically but have also demonstrated the importance of character and integrity, embodying the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

As we celebrate our achievements, let us also remember the importance of gratitude. Allah (SWT) reminds us in the Qur'an, "And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed: 'If you give thanks, I will surely increase your favour upon you'" (Qur'an 14:7). Let us be thankful for the knowledge we have gained, the friendships we have formed, and the support we have received from our dedicated teachers and staff.

Looking forward, let us continue to strive for excellence in all that we do, both in our studies and in our personal development. May we carry the lessons learned this year into the future, always seeking to better ourselves and serve our community.

As we enter the holiday season, I encourage everyone to take time for reflection and rejuvenation. May this break be filled with joy, peace, and spiritual growth.

Thank you for being an essential part of the Al Ameen family. I wish you all a restful holiday and a prosperous new 2025 academic year ahead.

With Prayers of Peace

Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wa barakatu

Alhamdullilah with the Grace of ALLAH SWT, we have now approached the end of 2024. What an incredible year it has been. Therefore, we want to reflect and take a moment to look back on the incredible journey we ‘ve shared thus far. Your support and involvement have been invaluable in enriching the learning environments with our teachers for our students. Together, we have celebrated achievements, challenges at times sadness through the loss of a teacher and fostered a community that prioritizes learning and academic achievement growth.

Highlights of 2024

This year has been filled with memorable moments such as Science week, Book week, Soccer matches, excursions including extracurricular sport and camp outings etc. not to forget the many religious events and end of year awards ceremonies including K/PP graduation. Our students have shown remarkable resilience and creativity embracing opportunities for team spirit and social and emotional development.

We are proud of each child’s achievement and the positive impact it will have on their future going into 2025. We certainly welcome our Pre-Primary students into Year 1 joining the rest of the Primary community.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we move ahead towards 2025, we are excited about the many possibilities and learning journeys that will take place. We will continue with your tremendous support and focus in providing a high-quality education that meets diverse student needs. Our commitment to provide a safe environment and inclusive one where every child feels empowered and valued.

As a Parent …...

We advise you to stay engaged with your child’s journey and look forward with your partnership to another promising year of 2025.

Welcome 2025

We also wish our young Pre-Primary students who will leave the K/PP area to join us with the rest of Primary school years 1-6. We hope to make their educational journey as incredible as their first two years at our school.

We are sad to see the year 6 Students leave for High school to embark on the second biggest journey in their school career.

Masha-Allah, well done, to all of you for being amazing students and making Al-Ameen College a beautiful place to come to work every day.

Finally, thanks to the amazing staff I had the opportunity to work with and the resilience they showed throughout the year.

We hope you have a safe holiday and see you back in 2025!

Term 4 Newsletter: Celebrating a Year of Growth and Fun!

It is hard to believe that we are already finishing the school year 2024! Term 4 has been packed with amazing and exciting learning experiences for our Year 3 students. The highlight was certainly the Sports Carnival at the beginning of the term. As we approach the end of the year, our Year 3s are eagerly preparing for their end-of-year performance and wrapping up an incredible year of learning, growth and fun!

Term 4 Class Activities and Learning Experiences:

English
This term, Year 3s focused on procedural writing. With the help of our engaging Talk For Writing Program, students mastered the structure of procedural texts. We explored the fiction model text
“How to Trap a Troll,” incorporating grammar and specialized language toolkits. At the end of the unit, each student created their own innovative piece based on what they learned.

Mathematics
In Mathematics, students explored a wide range of topics, including the Japanese numeral system, addition and subtraction, fractions, column graphs, angles, maps, and time duration. The highlight of the term was the hands-on Maths investigation
“Fraction Action,” where students applied their knowledge of fractions to create impressive art pieces.

Science
Year 3s dove into the topic of
Heat Energy, where they learned about different ways heat and energy are produced. Through various experiments, students explored heat production through friction, observed how energy is generated, and investigated the effects of heat on everyday life.

Geography
Students investigated Australia’s neighbouring countries and their unique characteristics. They identified these countries on maps and examined both the human and natural features of each. The class also enjoyed comparing these countries’ features with those of Australia.

Design and Technology
Year 3 students displayed great excitement during our hands-on food-making lessons. They made their own butter, cheese, egg sandwiches, and smoothies. During these lessons, students learned about the origins of different types of food, understanding how they come from plants and animals. They gained insights into the processes of farming, poultry farming, and fishing.

Drama
This semester in Drama, students explored and developed the seven elements of drama: voice, movement, role, setting, space, character, and time. The semester concluded with students rehearsing and performing an exciting Reader’s Theatre piece,
“The Magic Door.”

As we conclude a fantastic year full of hard work, we wish everyone a happy and safe summer holiday. See you next year! And remember to stop by and say hello to your Year 3 teachers when you return.
