As we bid farewell to the academic year 2023, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the unwavering support and dedication that each member of our school community has shown. It is with great joy and pride that we reflect on the achievements and memorable moments that made this academic year truly remarkable.
Our students have once again demonstrated exceptional commitment to academic excellence, and their achievements in various fields have filled us with immense pride. The countless hours of hard work and determination from both students and teachers alike have contributed to the overall success of the year.
Throughout the year, our school hosted a multitude of events that brought us together as a community and showcased the diverse talents within our student body. The Year 12 Valedictory Ceremony was an auspicious moment, where we celebrated the accomplishments of our graduating seniors, acknowledging their hard work, leadership, and contributions to the school community. Witnessing their transition to the next chapter of their lives was truly inspiring.

The End of Year Performances showcased the artistic and creative talents of our students. From musical performances to dramatic presentations, the stage came alive with the energy and enthusiasm of our young performers. These events not only entertained but also fostered a sense of unity and shared joy among students, parents, and staff.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated teachers and staff members who have worked tirelessly to create a nurturing learning environment. Your passion for education and commitment to the well-being of our students have been instrumental in making this academic year a success.
A special thanks goes to our parents, whose continuous support and partnership have been invaluable. Your involvement in your child's education, whether through volunteering, attending events, or simply offering encouragement, has contributed to the vibrant and supportive community we cherish.
Last but not least, we express our gratitude to the Board for their guidance and vision, steering the school towards continued success.
As we look forward to the challenges and opportunities that the coming year may bring, let us carry the spirit of collaboration, perseverance, and celebration with us. Together, we have created a nurturing educational environment that fosters growth, learning, and success.
Wishing everyone a restful and rejuvenating break, and looking forward to another year of achievements and shared moments in the journey of education.

Term 4 has seen a hive of activities. Over the term 3 break Year 12 ATAR students completed their Semester two exams. Students then returned to school for the exam feedback and final lap of exam preparation. The WACE examinations commenced on Monday, the 30th of October. Perhaps the most significant event that occurred in term 4 is the year 12 farewell. The farewell assembly and wonderful graduation ceremony were grand successes. Our Head Boy and Head Girl gave excellent farewell speeches and thanked their team of teachers for supporting them through their journey to complete High School.
Term 4 was also marked by a series of other award ceremonies, including those dedicated to Year 7-9 and Year 10-11. During these events, we honoured and celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of our students.
During term four, we welcomed our incoming year 7 students and their families to Al- Ameen College. Through Transition and Orientation days they had a taste of high school education. It will be exciting to see this incoming group of new students including our first batch of Talented and Gifted students begin their secondary school journey next year. We also look forward to welcoming back our returning staff and students, to what I am sure is going to be a wonderful school year in 2024.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our students, parents, and dedicated staff for the collective commitment to the betterment of our school. Have a safe and relaxing holiday break. See you all next Year.

Unveiling a Term of Focus, Unity, and Learning at Al-Ameen College
Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Dear Al-Ameen College Community,
As we bid farewell to another term, it's time to celebrate the strides we've made as a united and focused school community. This term has been an exciting journey, and we're thrilled to share some highlights with you.
Focusing on Education: Removing Distractions
We're encouraging our students to dive into their education with unwavering focus. Recognizing the impact of distractions, we stand by our stance of being a non-mobile phone school. We believe that removing mobile phones from the equation allows students to concentrate fully on their studies. We understand the necessity for some students to carry mobile phones, such as those catching public transport, and we're here to support them. Parents, your collaboration in this endeavour is vital, and we rely upon you to reach out to us and make us aware of your child’s need to carry a phone. To avoid distractions, the phones will be securely stored in the Wellbeing Office during the school day.
Promoting Unity in Dressing:
We're fostering an environment of unity, cohesion, and eliminating unnecessary competitiveness. Our focus is on education, and to emphasize this, we've introduced the 2-piece hijab. Additionally, we remind our female students from Years 6-12 to align their dressing with Islamic values (modest and loose-fitting abayas and long dresses) on Abaya Day Fridays. Students are also reminded to ensure they wear their sports uniform under their abaya / jubaa if they have sports activities that day. Uniforms are a cornerstone of our learning environment, and we appreciate the support of our students and parents in upholding this standard.
Tackling Tardiness: A Step Toward Improved Attendance
Implementing effective processes for managing lateness to class and school has been a key initiative. We're delighted to report positive improvements in student attendance, reflecting our shared commitment to creating an environment where every student can thrive.
As we reflect on these achievements, we extend our gratitude to the Al-Ameen College community. Your support and engagement make these initiatives not only successful but meaningful. Looking ahead, we anticipate more growth, learning, and unity in the years to come.
Here's to a united school community, steadfast in its commitment to education and togetherness!
Yours sincerely,
Manal Jneid

Dear Parents
We have come to the end of an incredible and productive year 2023 filled with growth , learning and achievements.
Let’s ponder a moment to celebrate our achievements. At the same time we are looking forward to enter 2024 with even more exciting times ahead.
Our achievements are our Parents and Students!
The biggest achievement of Al-Ameen College is that we can be proud of our students and parents. I would like to emphasize the importance of recognizing the value and contributions of both parents and students walking together on the educational pathway.
Parents have actively supported our college every step of the way, whether it is academically in Naplan or achieving outstanding results for ICAS, or just socially in our Ramadan and Eid gatherings. On the other hand, the students make Al-Ameen college a vibrant place with classes where students are engaged and enthusiastic about their learning which includes academic and Islamic Tarbiyyah processes. Parent involvement is a significant predictor of student achievement. We have certainly been a witness to the positive impact parental involvement can have on student achievement. Parents, have a wonderful end of year summer break with your children. Enjoy every moment!
Celebrate as a Team the end of 2023!
We at Al-Ameen College foster a sense of team spirit. Our teachers are dedicated to give back to their students the best that they can. They perform all their duties with gusto as requested amongst the heavy workload and crowded curriculum including a busy calendar.
A heartfelt thank you to the Heads of Years, Teachers and Support staff for going the extra mile to have made this school a success in the past and in 2023 and beyond……..
Al-Ameen College can be proud to have assembled an outstanding team of educators to design learning and building a cohesive team who will prepare the road map for 2024 together. I end off with a quote.

Pre Primary - Food is Fun !!!
This term we have been doing some cooking. The foods we chose to make come from the story we have been learning for Talk for Writing. Possum Magic!
Some of these foods included Anzac biscuits, Vegemite sandwiches, Scones, Lamingtons and Pavlova with fruit salad. We had a lot of fun making these yummy treats and even more eating them. Some of these foods were new to some students.
Swimming Lessons!
"Dive into success with our Pre-Primary superstar who recently completed a fantastic two-week swimming program at Gosnells Leisure World! These little swimmers mastered the art of floating on their backs and fronts, gaining valuable water safety skills. They also learned important techniques to call for help, ensuring a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience. Kudos to our young water enthusiasts for making a splash in their learning journey!"
RAC Incursion
RAC incursion taught he children all about road safety. The children participated in reacting how to walk across a zebra crossing. The children also learnt about bike and scooter safety.

Year 7 English
This term in year 7 English class, our focus has been on public speaking and developing students’ confidence. Public speaking is one of the most challenging aspects for most of our students and the purpose of our Persuasive Speeches unit is to enable our students to overcome this challenge and to prepare them for this very important skill in their future. To provide students with an even more enhanced experience and professional advice, we invited Sr Dahlia, our student counsellor to class. She delivered a very comprehensive seminar on public speaking where students were assisted in dealing with stage fright, stress and anxiety of public speaking. She listened to their fears and apprehensions about public speaking and equipped them with some very useful breathing exercises along with other strategies to cope with their stress. Students benefitted from this session immensely and we are thankful to Sr Dahlia for the support that she has provided to our students in delivering confident and engaging speeches.

UniReady, Cert II Business & English
The Curtin UniReady in Schools program helps to successfully prepare students with undergraduate courses in university. In Term Four, students delved into the Foundations of Communication unit, where they actively explored various communication strategies by immersing themselves in key theories. This unit provides an opportunity for students to enhance their written, graphic and spoken communication skills.
Lessons in class featured thought-provoking communication games that challenged students to convey messages without resorting to speaking, writing or gesturing. The term ended with a series of oral presentations, where students skilfully applied the communication techniques they had acquired throughout the course. It has been wonderful completing the term and this unit with this class.
